We are JAM, a Melbourne based design studio sharing the parts of the design process no one teaches you.
Design is like making Jam; sticky, unpredictable, full of mistakes. But that’s where the flavour comes from.
We started JAM due to the frustration of constantly wondering “does this look right?” And realising no one ever explains how they got there. So we decided to document everything: the good ideas, the bad prototypes, the CAD fails, the late-night breakthroughs, the tools we learn, and the things we wish someone told us earlier.
We’re three young designers trying to make good design without pretending we already know with “good” is. Through our own projects, experiments, and research, we’re building a resource for others - from portfolios, to form studies, to manufacturing tips, to everything we learn along the way.
